How to operate an Ethylene Oxide (EtO) Gas Sterilizer
Ethylene oxide (also known as EO or EtO) is a low-temperature gaseous process widely used to sterilize a variety of veterinary medical devices. EO is an effective sterilization method due to its lower temperatures and general compatibility with a diversity of materials and product types.
In the pre-treatment stage the load is heated and humidified to prepare for sterilization. The load is sterilized with the correct concentration of EO gas at low temperatures. In the post-conditioning stage, the gas is removed from the product and packaging.
