Precautions for ethylene oxide sterilization
Article packaging
① Selection of packaging bag: the paper plastic bag specially used for ethylene oxide sterilization shall be selected, which must be conducive to the penetration of the sterilizing agent, can withstand a certain humidity, and can easily remove the residual ethylene oxide. The size is determined according to needs;
② Selection of indicator card in the package: the special chemical indicator card for ethylene oxide sterilization shall be selected, and the chemical indicator card must be placed in each package.
Packing precautions
① The packaging bag must be used once and cannot be sterilized twice to avoid losing its barrier function;
② The sealing and edge pressing width of the paper plastic packaging bag shall not be less than 6mm. The instruments and articles shall be placed in the paper plastic packaging, with a space of about 1-2cm around and 5mm at both ends reserved for sealing and printing the sterilization validity period and the operator's work number;
③ The clean articles to be sterilized and the packaging materials used shall be stored in the room with relative humidity of 40-60%. There shall be no water drops or too much water on the sterilized articles, so as to avoid dilution and hydrolysis of ethylene oxide and affect the sterilization effect;
④ The package of tubular goods shall be loose without acute angles, and water drops shall be prevented from being stored in the cavity, otherwise ethylene oxide will be diluted and hydrolyzed, affecting the sterilization effect;
⑤ After packaging, record the name, quantity, Department, sterilization time, date and operator of the articles to be sterilized.
Item loading
① The articles to be sterilized must be stored in standard baskets, and a certain gap must be kept between the articles; During paper plastic packaging, the paper surface shall be kept opposite to the plastic surface, and the articles shall be placed on the side;
② The loading capacity should not exceed 80% of the total volume of the sterilizer.
